Thousands of lives are saved every day, by the dedicated work of the healthcare professionals in Cardiovascular-Thoracic (CVT) Critical Care. Despite medical progress, there is a growing crisis due to a shortage of professionals trained in CVT Critical Care.

FACTS-Care, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) foundation, was created to address this crisis and to take CVT Critical Care to the next level of excellence. FACTS-Care provides multi-disciplinary educational activities to train CVT Critical Care professionals, increase expertise, and promote medical practice safety. The CVT Critical Care Team includes: surgeons, interventionalists, intensivists, critical care nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, perfusionists, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists.

Council Membership Information

Mission

The Council for Excellence in CVT Critical Care is a group of health care organizations and companies that work with FACTS-Care to make possible the finest CVT Critical Care. The goal is to provide multi-disciplinary members of CVT critical care teams with information about latest concepts, protocols, technology and pharmacology in order to increase the patient’s speed of recovery, safety, and comfort.

FACTS-Care brings together: surgeons, interventionalists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, critical care nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, cath lab professionals, perfusionists, pharmacists, nutritionists, and respiratory therapists. 

The Council assists FACTS-Care to develop new educational strategies and provides timely information on key operational and policy challenges facing continuing medical education (CME) programs.

 

Structure

 

The Council members consist of companies and organizations that are world leaders in cardiovascular-thoracic health care and are strong advocates of excellence in patient care. The Council was founded in 2009 with the initial support of Edwards Lifesciences. 

The Council holds annual meetings and interim conference calls to develop educational strategies to address:

  • Changes in government policies that affect Academic-Industrial Partnerships and CME programs.
  • Incorporation of Medical Simulation / Innovative Educational Technology in critical care conferences.

Membership Level Support


In recognition of the important role organizations and companies have in FACTS-Care’s Council for Excellence in CVT Critical Care, the membership structure is comprised of three leadership levels:


Platinum, Gold, and Silver              

Membership level will be highlighted in the Conference marketing materials and signage, and on the FACTS-Care web site. The extent of Product Development discussion with participation in the Focus Group will be based on the Membership Level.
